The Publican House Brewery was founded in 2008 after a late night and a few pints sparked a conversation about a shared passion for craft beer. What began as an idea quickly grew into an opportunity to join an exciting industry and create a product we could truly stand behind.

With a vision, a love for beer, and a deep connection to the Kawarthas, we set out to build upon Peterborough’s brewing tradition while adding our own unique brands and flavours—shaping what became The Publican House.

As a family-owned brewery, we’ve experienced many exciting changes over the years, but our passion for crafting quality, flavourful, and consistently great beer has never wavered. That dedication has earned us recognition, including Newcomer Brewery of the Year at the 2014 Ontario Brewing Awards, a Gold Medal for our flagship Pub House Ale at the same event, and further medals at both the Ontario and Canadian Brewing Awards in the years that followed.

Our commitment extends beyond beer—we strive to give back to our community and share our craft with as many people as possible. That same love for local quality is reflected in The Publican House Brew Pub, located in a historic 170-year-old building that inspired our brand. It’s here that we invite you to experience our beers, our food, and our passion, right in the heart of the Kawarthas.
